Samantha iverson, MA, LMFT
I’m Samantha (she/her), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I specialize in helping women and couples navigate difficulties in life, set boundaries, manage anxiety/depression, increase confidence, communicate better and connect more deeply.
I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), as well as in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also a certified PrepareEnrich Premarital Facilitator.
I believe that there are good intentions behind most choices we make in communication with those we love - even if it can lead to hurt. I care deeply about seeing my clients meet their goals, learn more about themselves, strengthen their relationships and live full and happier lives.
I host sessions both in-office and virtually. My office is located on the 2nd story of a cozy coffee shop. You’ll often catch me grabbing a cup of coffee or tea just before a session and you’re welcome to do just the same! It’s my hope that during your sessions, you’ll feel comfortable and at ease — almost like you are sitting down for coffee with an old friend.
I’m here for the hard conversations. I will be cheering you on as you make progress towards the goals you’ve been longing to achieve. You will find more joy, love, connection and confidence and it would be an honor to help you to get there.
My Approach
Clients of mine have described my approach as a gentle balance of warmth and directness. It’s my job to tell you like it is, but I promise it will always come rooted first in the relationship we build in sessions. I hope that through the exploration you do in sessions you’re able to face the hard truths, do the self discovery and find growth and healing.
ivy
a woody evergreen climbing plant with long stems that often grows on the outsides of buildings.
GROWTH
Just like ivy grows and climbs, therapy at its best provides roots for us to begin climbing and growing towards a more flourishing way of life.
sage
a practice old as time used by healers and laypeople in traditional cultures. It is thought to cleanse people of negativity and promote healing, wisdom, and longevity.
HealINg
Like the cleansing ritual of burning sage or the mentor that offers “sage advice,” when we open ourselves to the process, therapy can assist us in healing emotional wounds and uncovering new wisdoms that help guide us through difficulties.
